source : Edo Satokagura
Shinto Kagura is distinct from the court kagura and instead features older ritual styles similar to that performed at Shinto shrines. This style of music involves the preparation of a shinza or place of worship to which the gods are invited. A priestess or miko is central to the ritual which is generally performed on winter evenings.

He was in India, practising meditation for two years, when the war of Irak started in 2003, and wanted to do something to stop the war.
He thought of Fudo Myo-O and started carving this one to show his feeling against the war.
He carved his first statue of Kannon when his mother died.
The statue has the gentle face of his mother.
Later when his father died, he carved a much bigger Kannon statue.
When his brother died young, only 55 years of age, Takita carved his first statue of Fudo Myo-O. He says it looks just like his beloved brother.

Minami Hokkeji (Tsubosakadera 壷阪寺)
Nr. 6 of the Saikoku Kannon Pilgrimage
Nara
壷阪寺(南法華寺)
西国三十三ヶ所観音霊場の第六番札所
The temple was founded in 701 by priest Benki of Genkoji Temple. Parts of it have been made from white stone imported from India.
quote
According to the chronicle of Minamihokkeji Temple possessed by Tsubosakadera Temple, the holy priest Benki felt the presence of the Kanzeonbosatsu (the Goddesss of Mercy) in his prized quartz pot while he was attracted by this sacred mountain and practiced asceticism. He enshrined this pot on top of the slope and help religious service for it, engraved the image of Kanzeonbosatsu and enshrined it as Tsubosaka Kannon.
This is the etymology of Tsubosaka (slope of pot) .Thereafter when the emperor Gensho was on the throne, the temple became an imperial family temple and was given the name of "Minamihokkeji Temple".
The holy priest Benki thereafter returned to secular life, became a man of culture and was named venerable Sohshu Kasuga (secretary general of Kasuga) and appointed the supervisor of clerical staff of Kasuga. The same description is found also in the record of March 19 in the first year of Taiho in Vol.2 of "Shoku Nihongi".
Minamihokkeji Temple is the name of a group of temples, and according to an old head priest of the Temple, it was at the zenith of its prosperity in Heian era when a grand cathedral of total 36 halls and 60 houses including the main buildings, five brand halls and a baptismal hall were constructed. The brand appearance of Tsubosakadera Temple was described with admiration in the storybook of Sei Shonagon abreast of Koya Temple.
However, most of the halls and houses of priests perished due to disastrous fire attacks several times, and at present there remain only a part of the buildings such as halls of worship, three-storied pagoda (they are both registered important cultural assets of Japan at present) and octagonal hall which were reconstructed in Muromachi Era. They are now standing beautifully in harmony with quiet appearance of the mountainsides.
Tsubosakadera Temple is a temple which many people have worshiped as sacred temple since ancient times. In the description of December 23 (Hinoetatsu) of the 14th year of Showa Era (A.D.885) of the Japanese chronicle "Shoku Nihongi", the Temple was ranked to one of the official temples and in the description of March 5 of the 8th year of Teikan (A.D.859) of"Sandai Jitsuroku (the authentic history of three dynasties)", it was ordered to hold "Tendokue (Ceremony to reading of Buddhist sutra skippingly) ". Thus, the Temple has been known since old times as a sacred temple in the mountain.
This Temple is the sixth of 33 scared place of Kannon in the West of Japan and the principal image Juichmen Kanzeon Bosatsu (Eleven-faced Goddess of Mercy) (wood-carved sitting image) enshrined in the Temple has been extensively worshipped as the goddess marvelously responsive to eye diseases. Emperors Gensho, Ichijo and Kanmu and man other famous historical persons prayed for the recovery from their eye diseases. In fact, many miracles of marvelous efficacy were recorded in "Kanreiroku (the Collection of Miracles of Inspiration)" (written in Heian Era).

Tobi Fudo ... 飛不動尊 ... Flying Fudo
Temple Shobo-In 正宝院
kanto Pilgrimage Nr. 24 - Tokyo 台東区竜泉3-11-11
source : Temple Shobo-In
The temple was founded in 1530 by St.Shozan 正山上人, a Buddhist priest of the Tendai sect. St.Shozan pilgrimaged around the country after completion of his hard ascetic practices in the holy Mt.Ohmine in Nara. When he visited this place of Ryusen and lodged with the inhabitants, he dreamed of a dragon flying high up into the air in a streak of light.
The dream of a dragon was interpreted as the symbol of divine protection by Fudo (one of Gods in Buddhism). Then, he determined to sculpture an image of Fudo to pray for the health and longevity of inhabitants and for the safety of his own pilgrimage. And he founded Shoboin temple to enshrine the image of Fudo.
. . . FLYING GOD -
. . . . The Legend of Tobi-Fudo
Shortly after the foundation of the temple, the chief priest took the image of Fudo with him to the holy Mt.Ohmine for his ascetic exercises there. One night, however, Fudo flew back alone all the way of 300 miles to Edo(old Tokyo) to answer the local people who were praying to the duplicated image during absence of Fudo.
Hence the Fudo came to be called as Tobi (Flying)-Fudo, and highly reputed as the god flying straightly to the prayers to answer. The temple name appears as Tobi-Fudo in many old maps and history books issued in Edo period(1603-1868) instead of it’s formal name Shoboin.
This suggests that Tobi-Fudo has been popularly known and worshiped from old times. In recent years, in connection of this legend with the development of air transportation, an increasing number of people have come to visit the temple to pray for their safe flights and journeys.
Fudo’s protective amulets called “Hiko-Mamori”飛行守り (hikoo mamori) for safe flights and journeys are now available at the temple.

quote
The story behind this temple is that after it had been founded in 1530, its chief priest travelled from Edo to the distant Mt. Omine in Nara for religious training, and he took the temple’s honzon (it’s central figure of Fudo Myo-o) with him. In the meantime, more and more people gathered at the temple back in Edo to pray to Fudo Myo-o. To answer all the prayers of his followers, Fudo Myo-o flew all the way back from Mt. Omine, and the honzon became known as ‘Tobi-Fudo’ (Flying Fudo), the god who would fly directly to the aid of all living things.
ゴルフ安全護 golf amulet
Taking up the theme of ‘flying,’ the shrine offers the ‘Golf-mamori’ charm, which will help your golf ball fly further, for 2,000 yen. We haven’t been able to confirm whether Japan’s favourite young golfer Ryo Ishikawa has one, but if you’re looking to improve your golf score, it’s definitely the charm for you.

One day in July 1975, children playing in the area found a "HUMAN FACE" had appeared on a stone memorial of a Narita Fudo Myo-O stone memorial. It was the time of the O-Bon festival and the whole village got very excited about this finding.
It is said to have been the face of the famous and feared warlord Taira no Masakado, who had made a prayer here to win a fight, but had his head severed by Fujiware no Hidesato 藤原秀郷 instead. Masakado appeared here to show his eternal grudge and hatred.
